Hello daytrader76,
>>Faultline, why do you care so much?
Because I am proud that a few kindred souls and I founded and brought to popularity a place where reasonably civil discourse has taken place. I, and others, have invested hundreds, perhaps thousands, of hours on this project.
>>What is the deal? What is the root of your control issues?
I've tried to specify a particular range of topics for discussion. My intent is to run an educational forum for the benefit of all of us. The posters vote with their contributions and their bookmarks. This thread is read by 460 people every day and I, for one, believe we have a contract with these busy folks to not waste their time. Like I say, they vote with their bookmarks.
>>Why do you insist upon being the topic police?
Because I've seen what happens here on SI as the zealots take over a thread -- my time is more valuable than that, isn't yours?
>>Why do you waste so much time in the name of the avoidance of wasting time?
Knocking down 200 posts a day to the essential 50 per day is my dream -- this is NOT a chat thread. That's 150 posts x 460 people worth of time saved which sounds like a terrific tradeoff to me wouldn't you agree?
>>You started a popular thread. Well done. But censorship does not breed quality.
Well, as I have just illustrated, it certainly does. Understand please, that you are free to fire up your own thread. Try it, it's actually quite illuminating.
Thanks for your comments. If you have any more questions please don't hesitate to ask.
:o)
