WV is a traditionally Democratic state. So, it's not surprising to see Kerry opening up a small lead there. Coal was the big concern in 2000. West Virginians were afraid that Gore's environmental policies would reek havoc on their coal industry. But, the coal industry in WV isn't what it used to be, and it's growing smaller in relation to the rest of the economy as each year passes. WV will probably return to it's roots and vote for Kerry.

As far as NV is concerned, I've heard it is slowly trending Democratic, but that trend hasn't really shown up at the ballot box. Clinton won in 1996, with Perot's help. Gore couldn't win it in 2000. Kerry might win it if the election turns into a landslide. So far, the Yucca mountain issue seems like a dud.
