I agree with your sentiment. Are your environmentalist friends in Nevada Republicans? I have heard Yucca mentioned in a few pieces about Nevada, but it seems like overall, the issue hasn't caught fire with many voters. The pundits were saying that they expected Yucca to be an issue in the 2004 campaign, as apparently Bush did an about face and supported Yucca after saying during the 2000 campaign that he wanted it moved 200 miles further from Las Vegas. But, apparently it has not really reached very high levels in polling. I guess Kerry's best thing going for him in Nevada is the fact that the demographics are changing in that rapidly developing state. A lot of Californians with liberal tendencies are moving in, as are people from other parts of the country.
