Searle, <shallow throat> LOL.

<Install a puppet-government, or at least a U.S.-friendly Iraqi government> This appears to be more difficult to do than in the old days. The iraqis are surprising non-compliant in transitioning to 'democracy'.

<They are such blunderers, and so reckless -- even in their crimes and scandals, as if they can do or say anything and not have to pay a price for their actions.> Yet 50% (plus or minus a few) seem to be able to continued supporting these guys...although today's polls suggest trouble ahead:

"Most Americans now say that sending U.S. troops to Iraq (news - web sites) was a mistake, a USA TODAY/CNN/Gallup Poll finds...It is the first time since Vietnam that a majority of Americans has called a major deployment of U.S. forces a mistake. When the war in Iraq began last year, the public by three-to-one said sending troops wasn't a mistake. Just three weeks ago, 58% still held that view.

Now, 54% say it was a mistake."
