Slacker, Re: RBC report / CDMA wireless component weakness, and “What is strange about it?”

1. The report refers to weakness in wireless semi components, particularly CDMA, from companies including TSMC. It’s my understanding that TSMC is a major foundry for the Q’s chipsets and that MSM chipsets are a wireless component.

2. The Q has stated that demand has outstripped supply for their chipsets resulting in allocation and that the problem is being relieved by seeking new sources and increased commitments from the existing suppliers. Further the Q expects the “problem” not to be completely solved until the end of the September quarter.

3. TT has presented twice in the last week with no mention of “weakness” in CDMA chipset demand. If such were the case, IMO the Q would be the first to know and would be obligated to state such to the investment community.

4. Since RBC covers the Q, has an “outperform” rating on such, and appears to be updating its Q reporting on a regular basis, a corresponding report should have been issued on the Q advising of such “CDMA component weakness”. If RBC’s findings of “CDMA component weakness” were from components other than Qualcomm’s chipsets that should have been a material part of the report.

5. Re: “Personally, this is precisely the type of research that I like to see. “ <<<

Exactly, if it’s accurate, complete, and not misleading.

Are we to believe suddenly, within the past few days that-

A. Demand for CDMA chipsets has dramatically fallen?

B. That Qualcomm is not aware of such, or is and has not informed the public?
