Justin,

I have no idea whether you have designed ISP's and Data Centers or not, but it seems pretty clear that you don't have a grasp of IIP's business and what differentiates it. Your characterization of IIP's business alternates between being so superficial as to be meaningless and just plain wrong.

InterNAP is the only company offering a service contract guaranteeing performance over the entire Internet. They are able to do this because their intelligent routing system supports it. Other carriers simply aren't able to offer the same performance guarantees, because they have no control of traffic once it leaves their network. IIP essentially offers its customers a network of networks over which it can guarantee a consistently high quality of service. That level of performance may not be important to you or many other Internet users, but for certain mission critical applications that require high reliability and very low latency, it is very important. Take a look at IIP's customer list, which includes some of the largest and most tech savvy companies in the world. Do you really think they are all victims that have been hoodwinked by IIP's "smoke and mirrors"?

Your assertion that "InterNAP is going out of business" is completely out of whack with their business performance. IIP has shown consistent improvement in its bottom line, its margins and its market share.

Here is a link to a discussion highlighting some of IIP's strategic advantage:

Most of the discussion of IIP goes on over on the Yahoo message board. It is a much more inclusive forum for discussing the company and its business.
