I have never seen anything like the movie crowd that I saw 9/11 with. Before the movies we were in between a family, and 2 Vietnam vets, in a line that stretched out of the building- all shows were sold out (I got my tickets from Fandango). I have never, ever, seen people clap and talk back to the screen - and it was constant in this movie. People were really, really mad at Bush, and angry about the war- ordinary people- in a fairly conservative area. I don't live in a liberal area- but the whole audience (in a very large theatre) was energized.

Fascinating.

Bush, and the people who support him, should be very frightened by this movie. Even if the content were false (which it is not) people are queing up in angry droves to view, at a rather steep price, what is essentially editorial news coverage. It is that fact, I think, that makes this movie so different. People realize their leaders have let them down (the executive and the congress) and that the media let them down- and so they are willing to shell out money to see the kind of film you might expect to see on Frontline (albeit toned down- Frontline tries so hard to be fair, too hard, often.) Be afraid Bush, be very afraid- a good segment of the people are angry.
