Two possible explanations: (1) In other words, sounds like Aames doesn't want the stock to go up before the terms of being acquired can be finalized. This would insure a lower price for the acquisition to the detriment of the Aames shareholders. I thought companies were supposed to be run for the benefit of the owners (shareholders)---in my dreams. I also thought that you weren't an insider unless you know something or are in a position where you should know something. A lowly Aames employee knowing nothing concrete and acting on a "rumor" wouldn't be considered an insider any more than the millions who heard the same rumor yesterday on CNBC. (2) Aames issued the memo in order to give credence to the rumors and drive up the stock price. I REALLY want to see the contents of the Aames memo. Someone please post. If you are an Aames employee, email contents to someone on this thread and let them post it so your name won't become public.
