I guess it won't affect me much way up here in New Jersey. But, you never know. I see trucks from all over the country and Canada when I'm driving my state's highways. All it takes is one Mexican trucks with faulty breaks to maim or kill me or my loved ones. You know it's bound to happen. If they actually let this insane policy go forward, it's an accident waiting to happen. Some poor Mexican truck driver is going to hit his breaks, and they'll fail and he'll wind up killing himself and a dozen Americans. Then it will be a national issue. Why did we ever allow these unregulated, unsafe, polluting trucks on our roadways?!? Well, we don't have to. We can prevent it based on safety.

I'm all for captitalism, but let's keep it sane. This sort of policy is just driven by pure greed and noone wins except for the greedy trucking companies. Even then, their families drive on the same highways and are in harms way. Keep the Mexican trucks within the border zone. Trade can continue as the trailers/goods are transfered to American companies. It's just a pure safety issue. Just goes to show what Bush and his cronies think about our safety.

I'm glad to hear other parts of the country are also concerned about this issue.
