RUSSIAN PRIME MINISTER DISCUSSED FOREIGN INVESTMENT INTO RUSSIAN ECONOMY
MOSCOW, June 27 (RIA Novosti) -- Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov had presided over a session of the Consultative Council on Foreign Investment into Russian Economy, his press secretary Alexander Zharov told reporters.
Mr. Fradkov met representatives of major investing companies to discuss a number of urgent investment policies, Mr. Zharov added.
The meeting should be viewed in the context of current reforms and investment preferences they could bring about, the press secretary went on.
"The administrative and tax reform, and the forthcoming banking reform - each of them should be oriented towards investment-friendly environment in Russia," the Prime Minister said at the meeting.
The participants admitted that the state on the one hand as well as the business community on the other should take more efforts to improve Russia's investment image across the globe.
The structure of the Consultative Council was also discussed, with a resulting proposal to set up special groups and subgroups responsible for the development of banking, financial markets, industry, construction, hi-tech sector, agriculture, and other enterprises.
The Consultative Council will meet again in September, Mr. Zharov said. |
