Sorry, Joe, but respectfully I see the opportunity differently. I see Eric as an open and honest executive who is addressing as quickly as possible all of the dead horse issues that many here seem to dwell on.
MSFT has done a masterful marketing job convincing the world that NT is the scalable solution. It simply isn't so, as the recent scalability demo showed--2 servers--WOW!!! The articles I read and people I speak with tell the actual story of users and VAR's. It might be helpful to Novell if some of the disgruntled loyalists here would use some effort and knowledge dwelling on the competion. [Or maybe they are-
tongue in cheek]. Will the real Novell supporters please stand up?
Both of them! Ha! Ha! I will focus on the strengths and positives as I see them, and call me crazy, but will buy more if it gaps down today.
One of us will be right. I thought Eric was very forthright and informative in the CNBC session as to the quarter and product releases and announcements in Sept. Certainly a challenge, no question, but I believe this can be a very profitable investment, "if" they remain independent. Good luck!
