Thanks for posting it.

Yes, I thought it was well done. Gives a real flavor for how these things play out in practice, even if that experience was a long time ago.

Perhaps the groups that are in favor of funding abortion clinics should actually do that.

Now there's a novel idea. Oops, too late, it's already happened. Currently the only abortions funded by the feds are for Medicaid clients in cases of rape, incest, and to save the life of the mother. You can't even get federal health insurance to pay for one if you're a federal employee even though employees pay towards their insurance.

But here's another good idea. The groups who are opposed to abortions should fund the medical care of pregnant women and babies and support through childhood either through adoption or family financial and social support the children those mothers are ill equipped to raise, particularly those who are born with life-long medical problems. Now there's something that hasn't happened yet.

Since this is out of the federal domain, we have the private sector. Ya gets what ya pays for. One side of the private sector has stepped up and funded clinics. Still waiting for the other side of the private sector, that side that's so fond of private sector solutions, to pay to have babies born and raised. So we get abortions but scant support for born babies, except those who end up in prison, of course. Of course now we can use federal funds to provide drug treatment for them. So we've come full circle. And it ain't a pretty one.
