If the fetus could live outside the womb without extraordinary measures being taken, I think that is is killing a human being. You won't get an argument from me on that. Were you expecting one? Under that reasoning, people opposed to murder should be responsible for the lives of the people they save. Good grief! I didn't mean "should" as "are responsible for." I meant that if you really care about something you express that by paying for it. If you want to demonstrate seriousness, you "should" put your money where your mouth is. (Also showing a bit of pique over the failure to recognize the societal cost of halting abortions. Lots of concern about the projected costs of gay marriage, though..) The SS studies show that the children always do better with both parents there, and wants us to foster that, and do nothing to make it worse than it is. Were you expecting an argument over that? Sorry to disappoint you. Did he provide a good explanation of how marriage is essential for that? I'll bet he didn't. Because it isn't.
