Hi Steve,

My Canon SLR has the IS built into the lens I bought. I'm guessing since Canon has lenses with IS they don't need to put it into SLRs. I'm guessing they figure it would be redundant. There are several great Canon lenses with IS. There are 10 different lenses with IS. My 28-135 is a great lens and it costs under $400 now.

Personally I swear by Canon. I think they make the best glass out there and several of my Pro photographer friends feel the same way. I have all their glass to play with as well as mine.

I'm really looking at the 10d right now found it for under $1300 and it is a vast improvement over my d60.
