It's not really simplistic. You are placing a higher value on convenience than on supporting your local merchants when you choose to shop at Wal Mart as opposed to taking the extra time to find the different items elsewhere.

And FWIW, I think it's good that you support local merchants when you do.

I am completely in favor of people siezing their economic power to purchase according to their values. That's all. Deciding where to shop is a values choice whether we make it consciously or not.
