The oil in Iraq is such an enticing target. It only costs around $2.00 to 3.00 per barrel to extract (some of the lowest extraction costs in the industry), and it's the 2nd biggest known reserve of oil (perhaps even the biggest once all is accounted for). The profit margins are out of this world. Anyone who thinks the attack on Iraq wasn't mainly about oil, is kidding themselves.
