The neocons lied to us in 2000 and claimed they were "compassionate" moderate-conservatives. They did not win the election but once they grabbed power they came on like hard-ons who'd won an overwhelming mandate. Then they used 9-11 to force through all their dream rightwing policies, none of which people really wanted and none of which work.
