I still remember Bush's letter to me asking for a donation to his campaign, and he made heavy use of the phrase "compassionate conservatism".... At the time it seemed a bit liberal to me, but then with Cheney and Wolfowitz behind the scenes pulling the "puppet strings", it all turned out to be a bunch of pure unadulterated bull fertilizer....
