It's an old game, going back decades to at least WWI. We control and manipulate the contries in the Middle East through coups, wars, arms deals, financial support, to maximize our profits from their oil fields. We did it well in Iran while our boy the Shah was in power, not so well in Saudi Arabia, but we still get our cut there through the Americo oil company. Iraq is just a continuation of this long standing policy. Except now, in a world without a major adversary like the Soviet Union, the U.S. and British elites can forcibly seize oil fields and take what they want from them. Sure, they set up these front programs to make it look all legit to the naive public, but reality tells us a different story. A story of unnaccounted for revenues and broken promises. But, who's keeping them honest? If they are caught, like they are in this article, what difference does it make? Will it be on ABC News tonight as the lead story? Will the U.S. government pass a law saying all Iraqi oil revenues must go through the UN to the Iraqi people? Nope. That is not our intention. It's an old con game played over and over again. A lot people just don't get it. Simple as that.
