The US will continue running Iraq from our embassy, the largest embassy ever built, and a very juicy target for terrorists. We're still not much better off. Handing over was a nice thing but there is almost no security in Iraq anywhere except a few Kurdish areas. Bush withdrew from attacks against insurgents and they now control key sections of Iraq. In Fallujah and other towns, the militias controlling things might even be worse than Saddam. They have been described as "Taliban types". In other words, Al Qaida.
