One more complication to the code?

There would be no tax code. You send a social security number of a dependent child, the government sends you a check.

Not only does a consumption tax system skew the payments toward those who must spend a greater percentage of their income on consumption, but it also depresses the economic flow which is the actual driving engine of our economy.

If you have one tax system (ours) skewed in favor of consumption and our trading partners' skewed in favor of production, where do you the production (and income generation) is more likely to occur? Just look at the US trade data for the answer.
