Hi Hawk....what does amaze me is the number of pundits (and others, like Wesley Clark, who should know better) who are still trying to talk down the last 16 months. Even Kerry, couldn't bestir himself to even note the good that has been done. Not even for a day.
It is a simply heroic and amazing feat...ridding Iraq of Saddam, putting Iraq back to at least where it was infrastructure-wise, helping them draw up a new Constitution, and now 16 months later, turning Iraq back over to the Iraqis.
Now it's up to them, and hopefully, with the help of the world. Except France of course.
Edit: Re: If we'd done this in 1991, we'd not only have saved those 300,000 lives, but would have known the full extent of Saddam's weapons programs...
He certainly wouldn't have had 13 years to destroy or hide all of the information that existed in Iraq related to them..
I believe this is true also. Someday, the people like Ms. Albright will realize they have a good deal to answer for... |
