Kerry has stated we need to be on the road to energy independence (mainly by gradually replacing gasoline as our #1 fuel) before truly taking on the saudis. But in the meantime, Kerry sure as hell wouldn't have ordered the FBI to lay off the Saudis, treated Prince Bandar like a cabinet member and allowed all the top Saudis out of the country after 9-11 without questioning. What we need now is a presdient who is NOT in any way in the pockets of Big Oil. That has gone way too far under Bush-Cheney. Bothy of them afterall are former oil CEO's and both have gotten big funding from the Saudis. Sine Saudis attacked us on 9-11, it stands to reason that Bush-Cheney are compromised.
