It occurred to me this morn that a simple 1/4 (25 basis) point increase translates into a 25% increase in the FED funds rate...
Kinda funny when you think of it like that.....

I really think they have kept rates too low for too long this time, in that the FED funds rate is well below the rate of inflation, and this could end ugly, but right now I don't know just how ugly it might be.
Check this out, it shows the FED funds rate back to 1954.

It reminds of the old Soviet Worker joke, that they pretend to work, and the state pretends to pay them.


I think our economy has a lot of 'pretending' going on....
