I hate winking whether it's done by Limbo or Fatso.

I do, too. So I've been noodling over whether Fatso's entry in that particular cesspool is a Good Thing or a Bad Thing. Obviously, by itself, it's a Bad Thing. But I'm not at all sure that we can "drain the cesspool" as long as we have one side profiting from certain tactics at the expense of the other.

I keep looking for hope re the cesspool. The other day I posted the notion that a rift in the GOP could produce some creative destruction, which might disrupt the denizens acting out their knee-jerk hatreds. Likewise I'm wondering if Moore's movie will force further escalation in the arms race or lead to a renaissance or at least to detente. I keep trying to find avenues of hope. So, that's why I haven't condemned Fatso. It's hope that this could have a silver lining.
