My point was that where he was at the time, staying put for those few minutes was most likely the safest option. The thought that he should make an immediate reaction based of the fact that he is the President is silly. It is arrogant too.

"You are not going to get peace with millions of armed men."

Are you advocating we disarm? Utterly ridiculous unless you want to live under the thumb of some dicktator like Saddam or Hitler or Kadafi or Kim whatever his name is. Or be slaughtered in place. Our constitution provides a framework that has lead to a prosperous and free society. Unfortunately the world is not at a point where you can just be nice and hope nobody will come after you.
