Forget about Bush and the Iraq war for a moment. If you think intelligence and law enforcement is enough to stop terrorism at its source, then you obviously think we should have gone into Afghanistan with spies and police instead of bombers and daisy cutters.


For me, I saw the attack on Afghanistan as important because the gov't, the Taliban, shared the philosophy of al Qa'ida and was harboring them. I also it as an emotional catharsis for a vengeful nation. It was partly successful......we removed the Taliban but we never finished off the al Qa'ida leadership.

In any case, there are no more Afghanistans......IMO the rest must be done with spies and the underground.
