Just so you know... The win was soured by the appearance of Dick Cheney getting the royal treatment wearing his Yankee hat. I've seriously begun questioning my allegiance to this team. This might be the last straw. Perhaps they actually ARE the evil empire. I don't know what to do, now. I can't just turn around and start cheering for the Mets... Or the Redsox... I've been a Yankee fan since I was 9. How does one change? How does one accept knowing that they might not get every single star player they ever dreamed of to play for his team? This is going to take some getting used to. How does one cheer for Pedro after hating him for so long? I don't know if I can do it. Perhaps I'll try it tonight. <In a half hearted Boston accent...> "Go Redsax. Beat Dick's Yankees!" I don't know if this is gonna work. What to do... What to do... Perhaps the SF Giants need another Bonds worshipper. He banged another one against the Bums last night. Maybe I'll just follow Don Zimmer. Go Tampa! Nah, just doesn't have that same feel to it. They have had a nice string of wins though... Or perhaps I'll cheer for the Expos. "Vive Montreal! Cest le vi! Trebien! Ah la wetta!!" <The barkeeps displays his very limited display of french multilingualism.> Unless I go for the Chicago White Sox. They could use some more fan support. Besides I already have a pair of white sox to wear as I cheer for Garcia. Hmmm. That might work. They have pinstripes too. Maybe that is it! I may have just found a team. Go White Sox! I'm not used to saying "Sox" without that Boston Accent. I hope I don't screw it up when I go to Comiskey Park. Oh shoot it ain't called that any more. The new one is called US Cellular Park. Shoot! How do I root for a team with a stadium that is named after a cellular phone company? This ain't gonna be an easy adjustment...
