The founding fathers did such a great job and even the electoral college was a stroke of brilliance. It's outlived its usefulness imo. Intellectually i dont really see where small states benefit. How many folks dont bother to vote in uncontested states because they feel their vote doesnt count. With one man/one vote even a new york republican or a kansas democrat has an impact. It will be hard to get the amendment thru no doubt. But like with 9/11, another one would wake folks up and if there were another mess in november voters would insist in great numbers. mike
