I think the real lesson here is that the rich are different.

I've read that the elder Bin Laden has hundreds of grandchildren, and the ones in the US were mostly highly-westernized college kids (they send them to school mostly in the US).

I imagine a filthy rich arab from another family would also have gotten preferential treatment.

It's the poor slobs in steerage who suddenly found themselves non-persons.
