Despite the fact that GW Bush's family can be traced back to British royalty & was prominent in early America, he grew up in small town TX. He married a school librarian(Teresa Heinz worth estimated $1B) & Bush prefers barbeques at the ranch rather than ski vacations in Idaho. Apparently he & Laura have a paltry single family home rather than 5 luxurious residences a la John&Teresa Kerry. Granted GW can visit mom&dad at Kennebunkport whenever he desires, but even that Bush seaside home is rather modest.

GW attended public school while Kerry was sent off to a Swiss boarding school for the most impressionable younger yrs of life. Of course, they're both Yale graduates & members of Skull&Bones since Kerry's lineage includes John Winthrop.

Bush vacations at the ranch or deep sea fishing while Kerry&Teresa choose either their multi-million beach house at Nantucket, Pittsburg home, Boston mansion, their ski lodge or visiting his French relatives in Britanny(or hers in Mozambique). Both men have been surrounded by wealth since day one; however, GW has experienced more of a relatively average American life than John Kerry.
