I'm not sure how much of this really is true, and you can't really "prove" this, but you can induce:

-Many felons are minorities
-Most minorities vote Democrat
-Gore was the Democratic candidate
-Many minorities have the same names as members of the other same minority group
-Therefore, purging people with the same names of felons will purge more people that would've voted for Gore than would've voted for Bush.

It's not airtight (induction isn't supposed to be), but it isn't faulty logic, either.
