Thanks cosmic,

Yes these are grim and so important times. Maybe the internet will save us all, as an individual progressive finds out they are not alone. From my experience, it seemed like the conservatives were so quick, always the first anyway, to speak out stridently about their beliefs in real life.. And they, the cons <g>, seemed to assume, myself for example, were with them. And being polite about it, I would just move the subject on... But that was then, in the more benign political days of the past 25 years or so.

And this is now, when the stakes are too high ,and also being reinforced and energized by my internet experience I do not move subject on. So I stopped being polite on politics and just stand my ground. .. Since the war I even initiate the subject in private conversations.. I have always been politically active but worked through organizations, local and national but never really took it to a personal level, but I do now.. Just like the cons I know, have done for as long as I can remember.. It's just too important not to.
