Truce by bin Laden? Like the 15 truces offered by al Sadr? And the 1,500 truces offered by the Palestinians?

When someone has vowed to destroy you and that it's their God-directed mission to do so, what's the purpose of a truce? So they can rest, regroup, re-arm, and go at you again.
