I am a super patriot, but only if we're attacking someone who really threatens us. Like in Afghanistan, I was cheering our attacks on the Taliban every day and wanting more. But as soon as Bush pulled out of Afghanistan, let Osama go and announced the Iraq war, I had a very queasy feeling. No problem blowing away Saddam but there was something very fishy about it. All of a sudden I felt we weren't necessarily the good guys anymore. Lies were being told. I felt that on a gut level. Unfortunately now I know that the Bushies rushing into that war were not the good guys at all. They were merely the dark side of the USA pretending to be heros. Shame on them.
