If that were the rule, we could all free ourselves from the bounds of racial sensitivity forever - look we're not prejudiced, we're just using those words, it's okay!

Sometimes the only sensible approach is the "if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck..." approach.

So what do nice people do when faced with making a legitimate observation that plays to an old prejudice

Is calling Sharon a puppeteer and Bush a puppet really legitimate? Is this really an accurate criticism of the nature of the ties, or is Nader deliberately using inflammatory language that he knows full well play into ancient prejudices now being allowed to run free?
