This SUV thing is stupid. If you now get a couple of grand off the price of an SUV it by far makes up for the added gas cost. Do the math. Frankly there has never been a better time to buy an SUV - based on pure economics. Personally I think it is bad domestic policy to not tax the hell out of the things. But then you get the real political issue. What cars does Detroit make money on? Where does the UAW work? Who gets hurt if SUV sales fall. It is really a delicious issuef!
