I'm getting confused. I'm talking about the puppeteer comment, which is what I understood LB and JohnM to be arguing.

You get that from the puppeteer statement? Even if you do, it still seems a reach to interpret that as saying it's all Israel's fault and not at all the Palestinians.

The statement in question looks to me like a complaint about the recent shift in US policy away from the old peace process to support of Sharon's new approach. "Puppeteering" is a hyperbolic way to express that complaint, but then it seems all political statements are hyperbolic these days and this is not much if any more so. I think, were it put nicely, it's a legitimate question even though I favor Sharon's approach. I still don't see anything inherently anti-semitic in it.
