Really?

Yes, really.

Pat Buchanan created quite a fuss when he said of the first Gulf War, "There are only two groups that are beating the drums for war in the Middle East - the Israeli Defense Ministry and its amen corner in the United States"

Nadine, I'm losing track of this discussion. I remember Buchanan's comments. I don't know what that has to do with the question at hand.

You said: "The first time. But the second, third, forth, fifth? Come now, Ralph Nader is a big boy and he knew exactly what he was doing - getting attention by saying something outrageous."

I replied that this was, indeed, the first I'd seen of his thoughts on the subject. You had agreed that the first time gets the benefit of the doubt.

If you want to talk about Buchanan, we can talk about Buchanan, but I need a clearer segue. I warn you, though, that Buchanan isn't someone I follow, either, so I don't know how much I could contribute to such a discussion.

Regarding the question at hand, I accepted CB's point that the word, puppet, is an established anti-semitic image, one of which I was ignorant. Given that, and assuming it is reasonable to expect Nader to know what I didn't, I withdrew my objection to his statement being labeled anti-semitic. I am persuaded strictly based on his use of a known charged word. The notion of too strong an influence is in my mind a reasonable subject for expression.
