Good news for DIY computer people living in the Chicago, IL area or visitors to the Chicago area Fry's Electronics recently opened a store in Downers Grove. As part of their Grand Opening Specials Fry's was selling 25 inch Sharp Color TVs for $100.00 and Maxtor 160 GB hard drives for $70.00 on July 3, 2004. For the few who have never been in a Fry's Electronics store Fry's is similar to Best Buy, except Fry's has a larger selection of components for DIY computer builders than any other store that I have seen. They sell just about everything but dual WAN routers. Now if the Chicago area had a book store like Computer Literacy in San Jose, CA then there would be no need to come to Silicon Valley to find out what the latest technical trends are.
