I hope you are right that the peoples in Canada, Mexico, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Belgium, the Netheralands, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, - countries that share a common Western Civilization & heritage (our traditional allies) and the border countries of Russia, Poland, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuiania,Roumania and Czech Republics still love us.
In business, Good Will is a tremendous asset. It has value. It can be bought and sold.
So it is with nations. Our Good Will with our tradition allies is a tremendous asset. There is absolutely no doubt that our go it alone and pre-emptive policies with respect to Iraq has caused tremendous loss in Good Will. Especially in countries that are our traditional allies.
Maintaining Good Will is pretty much like steering a giant ocean tanker. If you are on a collision course, you must take action well ahead of time.
Our Good Will with the public of our traditional allies have gone down as much if not more than George Bushes approval ratings in the United States.
In terms of value, that may even be more expensive than the cost of the War in Iraq. |
