If Kerry's position is "moderate", I would be interested in having you define the "liberal" position. What is it, has the word "liberal" become an offensive term? Kerry is a liberal, you do know that? At the same time, I am not sure that the traditional labels mean as much this year.

The Boston Globe did a search and this appears to be the first instance where Kerry has expressed the thought that life begins at conception.

boston.com

While Kerry, the presumed Democratic presidential nominee, has previously mentioned his personal discomfort with abortion, a database search of newspaper stories failed to find any previous reference to him saying that he believed life began at conception. A campaign spokeswoman said she also was unaware of him making the comment previously.

Methinks this is another instance of Kerry trying to satisfy both sides of the fence. Good luck.
