It was an intolerable situation to forbid colonial expansion on any reasonable terms, merely to hold territory for the glory of the crown... It was French land established under the Treaty of Paris. Honoring the Treaty of Paris is unreasonable? We only expanded westward when Jefferson picked up the Louisiana purchase. jttmab
