"Not heard that one....you'll have to provide a link."

I've seen it reported a number of times. Not going to look for a link, but you can if you want. What happens is that the ACLU goes after school districts and other entities that cannot match their resources and threatens them with a suit in hopes they will give in. It did happen on the east coast, and now a school district calendar does not even mention the Christmas holiday, even though it is a national holiday. Based on your answer below, I can only assume this pleases you, and that you think it is "fair" to be prejudice against Christians.

"A cross is no more appropriate on their seal than a Star of David or a mosque"

The cross is about 5% of the seal, and has historical significance. The city was started as a mission, and is called the City of the Angels. The mindset you show (as the ACLU does) actually shows a prejudice against Christianity, and is quite offensive imo.

"I suspect they will be stricken eventually."

Hopefully not. The Public and congress are overwhelmingly against it. But radical secularists are finding judeges that share their hated view of Christianity and are forcing the will of the minority over the will of the majority. This is why it is imperitive to keep repubs in power. The judges that write laws instead of interpreting them will ruin America imo if the practice is not stopped.

"That's (remotely be construed to mean that congress has passed a law in establishment of religion) not the issue.......the issue is separation of church and state"

What do you think we are talking about? The sloppy thinking shown by the statement above is scary to clear thinking Americans. The "separation of church and state" is the liberal interpretation of the 1st ammendment. You don't need a law degree or be a judge to determine what "congress shall make no law respecting an ESTABLISHMENT of religion". It means that we will not make an official religion of the U.S. that you must adhere to.

"The Constitution says there must be a separation of church and state."

No it doesn't. Read it and show me where it says this. This is liberal interpretation of the 1st ammendment that people like you incorrectly quote as part of our U.S. constitution. No wonder you are so confused on this issue.
