June Farm Prices Received Index Unchanged
Food and Commodities Index Up 24 Points over June 2003
The US Department of Agriculture announced that the All Farm Products Index of Prices Received by Farmers in May stood at 129 (1990-92=100), unchanged from May's downward revised index.

Agricultural prices are an indicator that BTM closely watches for signs of inflation. June's farm prices received level of 132 was 21 percent above its June 2003 level. The largest increases for the month came from fruits and nuts (+6.1%), poultry and eggs (+4.3%), and commercial vegetables (+4.2%). Livestock and products remained unchanged from the prior month, but was up 34 percent over June 2003.
