Krishna, I beleive that NT is stable and does not have a problem with crashes. In that regard, it is suitable for mission-critical applications.

On the other hand, NT has to be rebooted when installing many common applications. Further, it is not nearly as scalable as Unix. In these regards, it is NOT suitable for mission-critical applications.

I beleive that NT is suitable for those mission-critical applications that can fit within the available hardware and will not require scalability, with the caveat that updating software frequently on machines running mission-critical applications is inadvisable.
