It is the presence of US troops which is causing the death and destruction. Once they move out of there, the Iraqis and the Arab nations are independently capable of ensuring that Saddam and the Baathists do not reyrn. With Bush in the saddle, it will not be easy for the US and for Halliburton to let Iraq go. With Kerry, it will be only a matter of time before US troops are withdrawn and truly stability and prosperity returns to Iraq. The AQ will leave Iraq when the US leaves Iraq.
