Then the liberals go out and tell the Jews that the real threat to them is on the right. Yes there is a real threat on the right but there is also a new real threat on the left with those folks who back this anti-israel, anti-zionist, anti-jewish cabal, etc. and then eschew anti-semitism.

I submit that you are unduly muddying the issue when you throw in left and right as we know it. You say yourself that there is anti-semitism on both the left and the right. That's reason enough to ignore it as a variable. Further, most American Jews are pretty liberal yet this latest anti-semitism charge was against the left. I think you just give yourself a headache if you try to find a left-right thread in this.

The only thing left and right I've seen in this is that those who are anti-PC, a feature of the right, may suddenly find themselves pro-PC when it comes to Jews because this particular charge includes not just Jews but the Bush administration. Funny seeing the right espouse PC. <g>
