The campus PC crowd found themselves in the awkward situation of defending these actions as permissible.... Does that help? Yes, some. It would help more if I could fathom how the PC crowd could think that being anti-PC meant that they had to defend what you described. There is a difference between opposing a formulaic solicitude towards minorities, which is PC, and condoning abuse. I guess they just can't recognize grey. Or perhaps they're bigots hinding behind the anti-PC flag.
