I'm not aware of any pass "the left" gave to Stalin's anti-semitism. I am aware that some who were historically on the left were late to the criticisms of Stalin's policies; but I'm also aware that some on the "right" were late to criticisms of Nazi policies as well. I just simply don't see anti-semitism as a respector of political sides of the aisle.
